Ground Series selected in Artists for Planned Parenthood 2025

Ground Series was selected in Artists for Planned Parenthood, an annual project led by Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest that seeks to provide a space to process the current landscape for sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice. The 2025 theme is Visions of Resistance.

Ground Series co-director Brittany Delany choreographed and directed a dance video entitled ‘The Shape of Us’. The dance video featured dancers Aisha Stewart, Crystal Edwards, Ana Cruz, Lauren Bright, Brittany Delany and Edwin Sigüenza. Filmed by Pavel Gazdyuk, edited by Asher Emmanuel, and set to an original song ‘Breathwork’ by Jordan Lewis, the piece emphasizes the theme of resilience as a vision of resistance. She reflects, “As a founder of Ground Series dance and social justice collective, I deeply believe in the role of artists to be catalysts of transformation. In our vision for the future, we center building momentum and curiosity in our movement work. Developing connections to people and place, we imagine and design pathways for collective care.”

The Artists for Planned Parenthood projects were showcased at the Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest's Summer Sessions event on August 14, 2025 at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Balboa Park. Brittany, Lauren and Jordan enjoyed meeting participating artists, supporters, staff and community members.
